My client is a shipping company with more than 20 offices and a workforce of over 10,000 employees. They handle a shipping volume exceeding 200,000 TEUs courier shipments and freight solutions for their clients. Currently looking for a local CIO here in Hong Kong.

Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for oversees global IT department of the group and manage the Group IT Level IT functions (Software/ Systems development, implementation, data migration, system architecture, network infrastructure and Cyber security);
  • Partnering with the client's senior tech stakeholders, facilitate improvements in their business results by utilizing an integrated approach that encompasses personnel, workflows, technology, and data to tackle alignment, strategic, and operational challenges;
  • Develop a cohesive strategy for a long-term technology roadmap that aligns with overarching business objectives while providing a clear vision to ensure the overall architecture and solutions are designed for long-term scalability and stability;
  • Guide and expand a diverse, geographically distributed workforce while cultivating a dynamic organization that attracts and retains top talent in data, Cloud, and software engineering;
  • Develop the comprehensive solution from the initial concept and visual design through every phase of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and associated lifecycle activities;
  • Establish strong delivery capabilities that guarantee reliable integration and implementation, thereby improving the overall customer experience;
  • Cultivate a culture that optimizes resource utilization with an agile approach to support global business growth, while aiding in the design and implementation of operating models to integrate product, people, processes, technology, and data;

The Successful Applicant

The Successful ApplicantA successful CIO must possess:



  • Experience: 12-15 years of experience in a IT leadership role within shipping, logistics, and freight forwarding industry;


  • Proven track record in executing Group IT-level large scale software development, network and infra, Data projects, with a hands-on approach to managing enterprise application rollouts within the industry;
  • Exceptional communication and persuasive skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.


  • Financial Acumen: Independent ownership of business IT P&L and budget management responsibilities;


  • Strong expertise in rolling out Applications project globally and management.


  • Software Background: A solid background in software applications.


  • Language Proficiency: Ability to communicate effectively in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
