About Our Client

Our client is a Top Tier UK law firm specialising in corporate and commercial solutions globally. The teams of lawyers work closely with clients to deliver the legal know-how and strategic alignment. Currently, they are seeking for a Financial Analyst to cope with their future business development plan.

Job Description

  • Support the region's annual budget and planning cycle for practice groups and business services in Asia
  • Assist with regular reporting on the comparison of the business plan achieved, results and whether financial performance measures are being met
  • Support the region's quarterly re-forecast for practice groups and business services in Asia
  • Identify business trends and advocate pro-active responses, including supporting business cases for partner candidates, utilisation to match forecast needs.
  • Assist with providing analytic, commentary on annual partner moderation planning (PPR) and post PPR with individual partners
  • Monitor short- and long-term financial performance of the group including WIP, debt and expense management and developing and implementing strategies for dealing with issues
  • Identify, monitor and maximise drivers of profit and cash flow
  • Utilise reporting tools to analyse the profitability of clients, matters and pitches and providing advice on improvement
  • Assist with regular reporting on or to business services groups across Asia and Globally
  • Monthly forecasting of Capex & Opex for business services groups across Asia
  • Assist in preparation of pipeline tracker with Business Development
  • Improvement in business KPls - Utilisation, revenue per partner and fee earner, and WIP & Debt indicators
  • Delivery of commercially appropriate business solutions



The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 3 year's of commercial experience in a financial planning and analysis role
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Power Query, and Power BI
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle/SAP) preferred
  • University degree in finance, computer science, mathematics, or economics
  • Professional qualification as a CPA/CA will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying profit drivers and improvement opportunities through the analysis of P&L
