This role will support the Capital Markets team within a leading international brand. The role will report into the Partners and the Office Chair.

About Our Client

The client is a leading international brand that has a firm footprint in Asia and is dedicated to Hong Kong in the long term. The client has been one of the few law firms to actively expand their Capital Markets practice during the past year.

Job Description

  1. In coordination with practice area lawyers: draft, update and manage standard forms, internal memoranda on practice legal issues, and practice process/drafting checklists; Identify work product precedents (exemplar documents) (including collating precedents published by listed issuers); coordinate the preparation for closing bible;
  2. Contribute content to internal and external Firm publications, presentations and training;
  3. Initiate and coordinate legal knowledge projects and systems in the assigned practice areas;
  4. Coordinate with the IT Department and other Knowledge Management Department staff regarding content management and access systems; Develop and manage legal knowledge information collections and databases;
  5. Train and assist practice area lawyers and Paralegals in use of the Firm's relevant knowledge tools and information resources; Coordinate with peers in other practice areas to exchange best practices in knowledge resources developed by each area; Monitor and share with practitioners recent, relevant legal developments and current market practice developments and trends;
  6. Work with practicing lawyers to implement the Firm's Matter Management methodologies (legal project management) on their legal matters, which includes training lawyers to use new technologies and workflows to actively manage their matters, to create matter plans, budgets and timelines, and to document clearly-defined scopes and assumptions; establish phase codes and identify metadata for standard matter types; capture matter metadata in Firm knowledge management systems;
  7. Work beyond scheduled hours as necessary and travel as required; and
  8. Handle additional related projects as necessary.
  9. The Knowledge Management Attorney will not perform client legal work.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will either be an existing KM Attorney/PSL or a Capital Markets lawyer with the relevant experience and skill set that is needed to perform this role.
