Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical underwriting assistance to the Business teams for both Personal and Commercial segments.
  • Manage referrals for cases that surpass risk acceptance limits, ensuring strict adherence to the company's underwriting policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Business teams within the production underwriting framework to drive profitable growth across key business lines.
  • Organize and lead regular performance review sessions to evaluate underwriting effectiveness and develop strategic improvements.
  • Monitor and analyze underwriting results at various levels-company, team, business line, product, and portfolio-offering actionable insights to mitigate negative trends.
  • Continuously review and refine underwriting workflows to enhance efficiency in approval processes and accelerate service delivery.
  • Support Business and Marketing teams by ensuring that insurance concepts are accurately represented in sales and marketing materials.
  • Engage in meetings with agents or brokers as necessary to promptly address any underwriting-related issues.
  • Deliver underwriting training sessions to Business teams as needed to enhance their knowledge and skills.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements:

  • Holder of a diploma or degree, preferably in an insurance-related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ANZIIF or ACII are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in general insurance, specifically with underwriting expertise in Property and Casualty.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
