About Our Client

My client is a renowned international global firm, HQ in China. With an ambitious global expansion plan, they are seeking for a capable Head of Tax professional to take the business to the next level.

They provide generous bonuses and have a very sizable tax team in Hong Kong, this role provides great international exposure and a learning path.

Job Description

  • Support the team to perform international tax advisory functions to the business units and review new businesses and products
  • Ensure control framework is sufficient and complied with for internal tax compliance & reporting processes as well as local tax regulatory requirements
  • Providing tax inputs to various restructuring, merger and acquisition projects
  • Managing and optimizing tax risks of the Group by identifying potential tax issues/problems and initiating corrective actions
  • Managing relationships with external tax advisers, tax authorities and handling tax disputes
  • Oversee the overall tax compliance profile including tax return filings, tax payments and tax disputes etc
  • Perform ad hoc assignments as needed

The Successful Applicant

  • Not less than 8 years' solid experience in taxation, preferably gained from one of the Big 4 accounting firms
  • International tax exposure at commercial firm is preferred
  • Experience in tax issues and tax planning in various jurisdictions
  • Excellent personal and corporate communication skills;
  • A sound financial analytical mind
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Mandarin is an advantage;
  • Computer knowledge including English and Chinese Word Processing, Excel;
