Job Description

The BD & Marketing Manager will be lead a team (mostly based in Hong Kong) to implement business development strategies to support lawyers in achieving business objectives across offices in Asia. The core deliverables of the role is to identify opportunities to increase market share by expanding relationships with existing clients and facilitating new client growth, which includes compelling pitches and managing submissions for rankings and awards. You will also support partners and associates in developing specific account-based marketing models and facilitate cross-selling efforts.This role is uniquely position to support public relations and marketing communications for the firm's Asia offices. This includes working in collaboration with partners, the regional BD team head, and the global communications team to build and maintain relationships with media partners & industry associations, create strategic PR plans, and handle media requests. You will take ownership in the PR-related matters such as engagement opportunities, press releases, announcements, media pitches, and other external communications as part of the wider BD strategy.You will also drive the thought leadership and social media strategy in collaboration with the global team.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for this role should be fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English and possess a degree qualification. They must have at least 8 years of business development experience within a professional services firm, with a preference for candidates who have worked in a law firm environment. A strong client service orientation is essential, as is the ability to effectively communicate and engage with senior personnel in business development and other key areas of the firm.

The candidate should have a proven track record of managing a wide variety of projects, often with competing deadlines, and be comfortable working under pressure. Attention to detail is critical, particularly the ability to review documents and identify inconsistencies or conflicting information. Strong interpersonal skills are also important for building and maintaining relationships with team members and stakeholders, with a preference for candidates who demonstrate diplomacy, intellectual curiosity, and a positive outlook, including a good sense of humor. Experience in change management is also required.

In terms of technical skills, the candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Word. Experience using research tools and familiarity with web-based and digital platforms are preferred.
