Job Description

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies for food packaging and utensils, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing to secure favourable terms.
  • Manage supplier relationships, conducting regular assessments to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and product development teams to forecast material needs and streamline purchasing processes.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed purchasing decisions and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier contracts, and inventory levels to support efficient operations.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers to ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the food packaging or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is a plus.
