About Our Client

Our client is a Hong Kong Education Institution (University) with around 3,000 staff in their Institution. They are now seeking for an payroll expert with accounting background to join their team as they are having expansion in their campus in the coming years.

Job Description

  • Performing payroll related payment processing in a timely, accurately and confidential manner.
  • Performing staff cost allocation based on users' instructions and preparing payroll related reconciliations and reports.
  • Handle daily accounting operations, including processing payments and journals for payroll, MPF and other payroll-related payments, following up with various Units on payment matters, handling staff enquiries and dealing with matters on tax filing and clearance of staff
  • Handling taxation matters, including employees tax return reporting and filing.
  • Performing period end accounts closing and preparing staff costing analysis.
  • Maintaining proper record keeping / filings and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the University's policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of new or revised payroll policies, procedures and system enhancement.
  • Handling and responding to users' enquiries on payroll and tax related matters timely and appropriately

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines, preferably with professional accounting qualification.
  • Have experience in education institution and government organisation would an advanced.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and computerised accounting systems
  • Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English
  • Sound organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills; and
  • Able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks meeting tight deadlines.
